Aadhar Card for Children: A Detailed Overview

The Aadhaar card is used by the Indian government to offer its citizens a number of services. Aadhaar cards are frequently used as identification and proof of address. It is one of the cornerstones of Digital India and is essential to the country's shift to a more digital economy. One significant example of how Aadhaar has contributed to the fight against corruption is the decrease in food grain diversion. Children under the age of five can now get Aadhaar cards from the government. It's known as "Baal Aadhar." The procedures for registering for a Baal Aadhaar card online will be covered in this post.

Aadhar Card Enrolment for Children

Children can enrol for an Aadhaar card in a similar manner as adults. To enrol their children in an Aadhaar card, parents must visit a nearby Aadhaar enrolment centre and complete the application for their child's Aadhaar card. If the kid is younger than five years old, the enrolment form must be signed by the parent who has verified the child's identity and consent. Children from 5 to 18 go through the same procedure. In any case, in order to start this process, you would need to obtain a fresh Aadhaar card application form for your child. Any legitimate evidence of relationship document, such as a birth certificate, can be used to enlist the minor under the family head if they do not have any documents in their name. However, it can be used as an enrolment document provided the youngster has a legitimate form of identification or proof of address, such as a school ID card.

When completing an Aadhaar enrolment form for a child under five, biometric data collection is not a part of the process. The demographic data and face photos associated with the parents' Aadhaar Card are used for the process. However, biometric information is gathered when children older than five subscribe to an Aadhaar card. When children reach the 15-year-old threshold, the process also requires updating the biometrics of ten fingers, a face photo, and an iris scan.
